#CyberWeekly
We launched Easy Cyber Protection
This week marks the beginning of Easy Cyber Protection. We built a platform to help Belgian SMEs get their cybersecurity in order — without needing an IT department or expensive consultants.
What you get:
- Explorer-style interface — navigate your security tasks intuitively
- One percentage score — see exactly where you stand
- Clear next steps — know what to improve and when
Our first version focuses on the basics: tracking entities (people, devices, software) and assigning security tasks. Built on an event-sourced architecture, every change is tracked — perfect for demonstrating compliance to auditors.
CyFun 2025: Belgium updates its cybersecurity framework
Big news from the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB): they just released CyFun 2025, a major update to the CyberFundamentals framework.
What changed?
- Aligns with NIST CSF 2.0 — international best practices
- Governance added — now 6 functions instead of 5
- Supply chain security — doubled down on vendor risk
- Incident management — number of controls doubled
- OT guidance — new for operational technology environments
For SMEs, the "Small" level remains accessible — just 7 essential controls to get you started. Learn more about the different certification levels.
SMBs are now the #1 target for hackers
70.5% of data breaches in 2025 targeted small and medium businesses. Not large enterprises — SMBs.
Why the shift?
- Large companies invested heavily in cybersecurity and stopped paying ransoms
- Hackers adapted — going after smaller targets with weaker defenses
- Volume over value — many small payouts beat one big score
This is exactly why we built Easy Cyber Protection. You don't need enterprise-level security budgets — you need the fundamentals done right. And with NIS2 requirements coming into effect, now is the time to act.
